In 1995 he founded WEB, an internet company at the beginning of the internet revolution. In 2000 he pioneered innovation in digital product design, bringing technology such as sending bulk branded emails with live analysis for Visit Britain and customer logins to manage their data for theatres. Over the past years, Andy has changed how users experience brands online, creating digital products that are human centered and focus on engagement with video technology, Chatbots, AI and Machine learning.
A passionate advocate for the creative use of technology, Andy is inspired by the pursuit of original thinking for online solutions to problems such as; centralised property databases, share a lift scheme and connecting the first theatre in Britain with integrated booking to Facebook. In 2004 he was recognised in the entrepreneur of the year awards.
Andy’s work is focused on human centred design and has created immersive experiences for Manchester International Festival, Visit Scotland, Fettes College and The Lowry. More recently his ideas have been centred around developing AI and Machine learning digital products and video commerce technology that allows users to make purchases directly from video. His work across a number of sectors allows him to draw insights to form a diverse set of approaches and ideas for solving online challenges.
Outside of his work he played rugby for Edinburgh Academicals, Edinburgh and Combined Districts. Now he challenges himself with a trip up Kilimanjaro and Scottish munros.
