Three new features from Facebook Live.

You will soon be able to have two remote broadcasts; pre schedule your streams, create a virtual waiting room for viewers and broadcast with MSQRD’s face masks. I wonder what the guys at Meerkat and Periscope are thinking.

Broadcast with a friend.

First is an ability to live broadcast with people in different locations — like a remote interview or conference and could be seen as a way of sharing community ideas. Effectively you can invite a friend to “drop in” on your broadcast.

Waiting rooms and pre-scheduled broadcasts.

Facebook is also introducing waiting rooms for pre scheduled broadcasts to start. Periscope has always had the issue of waiting for viewers to “join” before a broadcast takes place – good move.

Live with a mask.

Last but not least the ability for users to use the MSQRD app to go live on Facebook directly from the app. MSQRD is the video filter recently added to the Facebook portfolio. Users will be able to try on different masks and effects from within MSQRD and arms users with funny content to encourage them to go live more often.
